The iConverter line includes a 19-unit, a 2-unit and a 1-unit chassis, fiber to copper and multimode to single-mode fiber converters for Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, 10/100 Ethernet, Standard Ethernet and ATM OC-3 and OC-12.

TEMPE. AZ - The Primarion PX5110 SerDes Chip from Primarion increases bandwidth between servers and routers with true signal integrity. Designed to simplify the integration of high-performance data transmission between buses, backplanes, hubs, switch networks, storage area networks and other subsystems, the PX5110 is one of the first SerDes which fully supports the emerging InfiniBand Architectural Specification. 
The PX5110 is priced at $18 in quantities of 1,000 units, and samples will be available in the fourth quarter of 2001. Production volumes for both ICs are scheduled for the second quarter of 2002.

TEMPE. AZ - Primarion has released the Primarion PX5120 Skip-Free Retiming Repeater Chip, which uses a proprietary skip-free architecture, which allows the device to retransmit data at the same rate as the incoming signal while resetting the jitter budget, enabling an “infinite” length of InfiniBand links in a subsystem or network. The component has better jitter performance, uses less power, consumes less board space, and is more cost-efficient than competing repeater schemes.

SAN JOSE - StarVox Inc. has released the StarVox IP Cenrex, a VoIP application that enables broadband service providers to deliver VoIP-based virtual PBX services to small and medium-sized businesses. The system can be used to connect multi-site offices, telecommuters and mobile workers with broadband access to the service provider's IP network. It can provide an outsourcing option for companies with existing PBX systems but no longer want to carry the expense of maintaining the equipment in-house.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - Sumitomo Electric Lightwave has announced the availability of its Fiber Routing Control system. The FRC system features waterfall slots in its rack-mounted, high-density TSX shelves. The shelves come in 144 and 72 fiber count shelves. The shelves, which are within a bay assembly, enable user flexibility for meeting customized fiber count and management requirements for CO and other applications.
